 Yeah, I know that. I was just wondering why they included that exchange in Super. I mean yeah it could just be Toei screwing up as always. But, if it is also included in the manga version then some things might need reevaluation (If Super is taken into consideration).

 Even if it turns out to be in the Super manga, I don't think I'd come to a different conclusion.

 The Saiyans lose. The future androids arent weaker then the present ones.

Trunks says he was fighting them ok but theres no way for him to know how strong they are.

Future Gohan thought the exact same thing and thought if he fought them one at a time he could win. He was proven completely wrong when 17 admitted he wasnt even using half his strength.

They even thought Vegeta was doing "ok" against 18 until he had a humiliating defeat.

 Not to mention that Goku, after recovering, says unequivocally that if Vegeta couldn't beat the Androids, he wouldn't stand a chance against them or Cell either.
